Avalon Bay is a beautiful beach located in Eagle Rock. Where the two arms of the island meet it has wonderful views of the Manhattan Island and Long Island Sound. The beach is accessible through hiking trails as well as by boat.

AMazing views can also be seen all around Avalon Bay. The forested northern shoreline of the bay is also amazing. But if you are more of an adventure person you could stay on the land and in the case of breezy days paddle around on the Gondola on the Tavern Plain.
Tavern Plain is the central area of Avalon Bay. It has the most amenities as well as the best residential neighborhoods for vacationers. Many of the residential areas are private and are typically found off of the main roads.
The Gondola is the central attraction of the area. It offers travelers a unique view of the turquoise blue waters that border the calm waters of the Tavern Plain. Leisure facilities and visitor amenities such as hookups, internet ports, and shower facilities are all available to the public. To cool off you can take a stroll into the aid of the Tavern Plain Mosquito Lake.

Avalon Bay is also a focal point for those seeking to ‘go green.’ They re ecology education and participate in green projects such as reforestation, solar panels, and hydogenics. This area is alive with outdoor activities such as swimming and snorkeling.
‘It’s a combination of things. We have a large group that investments time and energy and in other organizations and we also invest in businesses and services that will make a positive impact,” said Sutherland.
For example, he mentioned that they personally invest in a long list of local companies and projects. These are businesses such as the non-profit day spas, green hotels, day cares and schools. Also, they regularly attend business meetings with area leaders and participate in business development activities with other community members.
“What we want to do is help the community come closer together, be it in the sense of being involved in big events or little events in the community. We want to be there to help our neighbors and friends with issues that are going on in the area.
